Why do Muslims sacrifice animals if they believe hurting animals is wrong?

I dont get why Muslims sacrifice animals if they believe they will get bad karma if they hurt an animal so how is it different and since they believe in reincarnation how do they know that they are killing someone apart of their family. This has been driving me crazy so if you can answer this i would be so grateful.

Abu Ya’la Shaddad bin ‘Aus (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “Verily Allah has prescribed Ihsan (kindness) for everything. So when you kill, you must make the killing in the best manner; when you slaughter, make your slaughter in the best manner. Let one of you sharpen his knife and give ease to his animal (in order to reduce his pain).”

[Muslim].

It is forbidden for Muslims to be cruel to animals, and when a Muslim goes to sacrifice an animal (usually a goat, lamb, calf, etc.) and feed the poor with it, he/she does not intend to be cruel to the animal. Also, a sacrifice must be slain as quickly and painlessly as possible.

Not all Muslims do that but many Christians do. You do know that, don’t you? In fact, every major religion has a tradition of animal sacrifice that at least some people still practice today.

That I’m aware of Muslims do not recognize the need of a sacrifice of any kind for sins so they don’t sacrifice animals. They do eat them. Modern Jews also no longer recognize the need for sacrifice and have stopped animal sacrifices, etc. They eat only certain animals while only pork (pig) is forbidden to Muslims.

They also do not believe in reincarnation or karma, but in the Bibles teaching of the resurrection (though they have taken up the immortal soul I believe which is not a teaching of Bible religions. Ezekiel 18:4, 20, 1 Cor. 15:45, 1 Timothy 6:16). The soul is just your, your body and dies. Immortality is only for Jesus and the saints/his bride of judges who give up human life to go to heaven to rule.

Muslims don’t believe in reincarnation/karma etc. They believe in God and Judgment Day (and day of resurrection NOT reincarnation).

Why do Christians kill animals if they believe hurting animals is wrong.

Muslims have to slaughter the animals humanely for it to be halal. The animal cannot be ill, dead, injured etc. when slaughtered, sharp knife has to be used to cut thjugularar vein so the death is instant and blood let to drain (toxins) and pronounce the name of God when slaughtering. This is a creature of God.

Sacrifice is essentially slaughter except for special intention for example at birth of child or end of Hajj, in remembrance of Abraham’s sacrifice, but the meat is for charityty, given out all in charity often although 1/3 can be for you/family, 1/3 foneighborsrs and 1/3 for the poor.

we’re not hindus hahaha we can eat meat, and we don’t believe that all kinds of killing are unjustifiable, just some forms- murder, killing an animal just for sport, these are unjustifiable.. but killing an animal so you can eat it is considered perfectly acceptable

It’s not only muslims, It’s permissable for food etc… but completely forbidden for doing so for sport.

Also, halal slaughter is the most humane way of sacrificing animals – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quhVxLUwi…

Here’s the “official” answer from Muslim Corporate, which I personally think is still nothing more than typical religious mumbo-jumbo and self-justification for cruelty, or an excuse to have a good meal—but since you asked, I’ll give it to you from the mouth of the believers:

“That is to say, the underlying implication of Islam’s attitude toward ritual slaughter is not that of blood atonement, or seeking favor with Allah through another’s death, but rather, the act of thanking Allah for one’s sustenance and the personal sacrifice of sharing one’s possessions and valuable food with one’s fellow humans. The ritual itself is NOT the sacrifice. It is merely a method of killing where the individuals kill as quickly as possible and acknowledge that only Allah has the right to take a life and that they do so as a humble member of Allah’s creation in need of sustenance just like every other species in Allah’s creation”

killing for food is acceptable in most cultures, especially if done humanely.

Because it is a sacrifice….a sacrifice is something that is not easy to do.
