CA / Army MOS 38B’s — what do you think about your MOS?

What do you like/dislike about this MOS? If you don’t like this MOS, what MOS would you rather have chosen/ want to transfer into? Why? Thanks 🙂

I am not in that MOS, but I work with them.

Their job is similar to the Peace Corps, but they carry rifles. In a war, their job is to help clear civilians away from the battle. After the war, they kind of fill the role that USAID did before they got slashed and work to rebuild the country.

The majority of them are in the Reserves. The active duty ones generally ideally would go in first, do an evaluation and then a Reserve unit would take over and act on the first units assessments. That usually ddoesn’thappen, especially now.

They deploy a lot because of the nature of their job. They are limited in what they can be used for in the USA. That is one reason why the majority are in the Reserves. The other reason is so they have a civilian background. So a hospital administrator in the civilian world would deploy as a CA team and help rebuild hospital and emergency response systems. A fireman would help rebuild their fire departments and so on.

Often when you see pictures of Soldiers handing out toothbrushes and things, that them. It can be as simple as that or helping to establish a country’s first election.

Hope this helps. Best of luck to you.
