RE:

Cleopatra was a Greek colonist from HELL…i.e. Hellenistic

To make it clear, when someone says “she was Macedonian” this comment was probably written by a Monkey-donian dumbass (a fake “Macedonian” from FYROM) for propaganda purposes. Cleopatra was Greek (.) Macedonia means Greece and vice versa (.) See, the difference is that Alexander the Great was so good and kind with the folks he conquered (people who served him), that now everybody want him as Duddy! They have no “bad memories” at all as it happens with other great military commanders. MONKEYDONIANS…You are born Greek, you don’t become Greek…sorry!

more specific
Though she bore the ancient Egyptian title Pharaoh, her primary language was Greek; for several centuries preceding her rule, Egyptian kings had been of Greek (i.e. Hellenistic) origin rather than Egyptian origin. The establishment of a Greek-speaking aristocracy in Egypt had come with Alexander the Great nearly 300 years before. Cleopatra is reputed to have been the first member of her family in their 300-year reign in Egypt to have learned the Egyptian language. Cleopatra adopted common Egyptian beliefs and deities. Her patron goddess was Isis, and thus during her reign, it was believed that she was the re-incarnation and embodiment of the goddess of wisdom.

Cleopatra was the last of the Ptolemy dynasty in Egypt.
The Ptolemies were Macedonian in decent, but ruled as Egyptians, as Pharaohs. Cleopatra was the last Pharaoh of Egypt.
Cleopatra VII’s family had been ruling Egypt since 305 B.C., when Ptolemy I declared himself King of Egypt sometime after Alexander the Great’s death.

OK:
Cleopatra: Cleos (in ancient GREEK = glory, similar names: Clearhos, Cleomenis etc) + Patra (ancestors or homecountry, similar words: patriotic, patir – father in ancient GREEK, paternalistic etc).
She was the last heir of the House of Ptolemeos Philadelphos, (Philos = friend, similar words: philosophy: friend of wisdom, philatellist: friend of the stamps, philanthropist: friend of the humans, etc) + (adelphos = brother, similar word: Delphi – the most important ancient oracle) (Btw, Philladelphia in the USA has the exact GREEK name as you can also see in the relevent wikipedia link below): ” Its name literally means “the City of Brotherly Love” (from Greek: Φιλαδέλφεια, [pʰi.la.ˈdel.pʰeː.a], Modern Greek: [fi.la’ðɛl.fi.a], “brotherly love” from philos “love” and adelphos “brother”) (took the name from immigrants deriving from an ancient Greek city having the same name, built by the General of Alexander the Great, Philladelphos).
All these names were GREEK, neither Bulgarian, nor Egyptian.
Cleopatra was Greek proclaimed by the Egyptian clergy to be a Pharaoh (like all her ancestors, after the conquest of Egypt by Alexander).

Cleopatra was ETHNICALLY Greek, without any doubt.

When Alexander The Great died his Empire was split between two of his Macedonian Greek generals, Seleucus and Ptolemy.

Ptolemy got Egypt, among other places.

Cleopatra was the last of the Ptolemy Dynasty, the last Macedonian Greek ruler of Egypt. She was a direct descendant of Emperor/General Ptolemy.

It should also be noted that Cleopatra spoke Greek, Cleopatra is a Greek name, and Cleopatra followed Greek culture and religion.

There is all sorts of rubbish talked about Cleopatra, it is also a myth that she was beautiful, statues and coins with her image that were made in her lifetime show her with a hooked nose, thin mouth and thick neck.

Another myth is that she was black. As a Greek, she was quite obviously not black, and even if she had been Egyptian, she would not have been black, as the Egyptians were and are a semitic race, not a black african race. Also, her statues do not portray a black woman.

Cleopatra was deposed by the Romans, who took control of Egypt thereafter.

Today, the only people who can claim descent from the Ancient Egyptians are the Coptic Christians, who still keep the language alive for religious purposes, and sometimes give their children ancient Egyptian first names.

The reason for this is that when the Arabs/Muslims arrived in Egypt in 7th Century AD, there was no more conversion to Christianity. Therefore the Christians there today, by Definition, are of PRE ARAB Origin.

Hope all this helps

Her great grandfather was one of the generals of Alexander the Great. She came from the family Ptolemaios aka Ptolemy in English. I dont know the amount of other admixtures in her blood but she definitely has Greek OR Macedonian ancestry. I’m not sure if Ptolemaios family were Greek or Macedonian.
