Suspiria 25th Anniversary Tagline: The Only Thing More Terrifying Than The Last 12 Minutes Of This Film Are The First 92. I watched this movie at the TLA in Philly when I was 14…didn’t sleep that night. I see it is now available on dvd. Of course now days, there has been such an excess of blood and gore in movies, that the suspense and thrill factor is lost on younger kids. Not a slasher movie, more of an mental ride.

Just Before Dawn
God Told Me To
Killer Clowns From Out Of Space
Dead Birds
The Stuff

How about some of the Troma movies, like Toxic Avenger and The Class of Nuke’Em High. There’s also Surf Nazis Must Die, which may or may not be a Troma production.

You might enjoy the Evil Dead movies and the Basket Case series. Then there are classics like CHUD, Frankenhooker (I swear, I’m not making that up), Re-Animator, the Scanners series, Motel Hell, Creepshow, From Beyond, Return of the Living Dead (and its sequels) and Killer Klowns from Outer Space (again, not making this one up).

Not sure if they were the 1980’s but the movies that have freaked me out the most were:
Of Unknown Origin
The Prince of Darkness
and The Believers

Oh wow- i’m the one to ask on this one!

Student bodies (more a parody- i think you’ll like it though)
Motel Hell
Slumber Party Massacre
blood-sucking Freaks (don’t watch that unless you’re over 18)

i’ll write more as I think of them (I thought Maniac was hilarious- what a great movie)

Return of the Living Dead

My two favorite 80s horror flicks.

How about all of the House movies. Started out as a creepy series but sequels then turned to comedic-horror.
Then there is a movie called “Dolls” about a house with cute little dolls which come to life and kill you. so cheesy that the victims become dolls!
