When leasing a car, they used to do the repairs, tires, etc. You kept insurance on car, kept it filled with gas, oil. After leasing a car, being told they no longer do this in Calif. Does anyone know?? benefits?? truth??
You are required to do the maintenance on a lease, some manufactures have a special deal where they provide those services but they aren’t standard.
The benefits are you get to drive a new car every 2-3 years (but you also have to make payments on all those new cars), at lease end you return the vehicle and walk away. Look for special offers. You only have to pay for the difference between the purchase price of the car and the expected value at the end of the lease contract plus interest on the money lent – a car loses a lot of value after you drive it off the lot and you have to pay for that.
The downside is the mileage limits – make sure you know what how many miles you are allowed to drive per year. If you drive a lot of miles per year or drive cars for a long time a lease probably doesn’t make sense. Also, any money due upfront is only to reduce the monthly payments.
