JEWS AND MUSLIMS – IS KOSHER HALAL?

Im a Muslim i was wondering if Kosher is halal?

Kosher foods are those that conform to the rules of Jewish religion. These rules form the main aspect of kashrut, Jewish dietary laws.

Reasons for food being non-kosher include the presence of ingredients derived from non-kosher animals or from kosher animals…

Yes it’s halal.
But why should we buy food from Zionists who kill women and children?

To answer you, there are two considerations regarding the consumption of kosher meat:

a) permissibility;

b) appropriateness.

In terms of “permissibility”, the fatwa is that kosher meat is in itself halal, as such meat fulfills the conditions of a valid slaughtering (zabiha).

In terms of “appropriateness”, most major scholars tell us that given the nature of Zionist oppression of our Palestinian brethren, it is our duty to boycott the products of those who support the state of Israel.

Proof from Quran.

1- Food of people of the book (Christians and Jews) is halah :

( اليوم أحل لكم الطيبات وطعام الذين أوتوا الكتاب حل لكم وطعامكم حل لهم 5-5

[5:5] Today, all good food is made lawful for you. The food of the people of the scripture is lawful for you and your food is lawuful for them ….

2-God told Muhammad, peace be upon him, to tell people about the Halal food :

( قل لا أجد في ما أوحي إلي محرما على طاعم يطعمه إلا أن يكون ميتة أو دما مسفوحا أو لحم خنزير فإنه رجس أو فسقا أهل لغير الله به فمن اضطر غير باغ ولا عاد فإن ربك غفور رحيم ( 6-145 ) )

[6:145] Say, “I do not find in the revelations given to me any food that is prohibited for any eater except: (1) carrion, (2) running blood, (3) the meat of pigs, for it is contaminated, and (4) the meat of animals blasphemously dedicated to other than GOD.” If one is forced (to eat these), without being deliberate or malicious, then your Lord is Forgiver, Most Merciful.

From what i know, kosher is not halal. Halal meat has to be slaughtered in the name of Allah and by a muslim

I’ve been told by many a Muslim acquaintance that when one cannot find food that is deemed Halal, one settles for Kashrut, since Jewish dietary laws are stricter than Islamic ones (Jews cannot mix meat with dairy, they cannot have shellfish, shrimp, etc).

I’ve also been told by these same Muslim acquaintances that the only exception is meat, with respect to manner of slaughter (Jews don’t face the animal toward Mecca and say that particular prayer at the moment of slaughter). Yet this depends on how devout you are.

Just a couple corrections, grannysan:

1) Jews do not need separate refrigerators for dairy and meat, only separate cooking implements.
2) Jewish slaughter is quite humane. The animal does not lie there bleeding to death. It is one quick slice with a very sharp knife that kills pretty instantly and is virtually painless.

No – but they’re close 🙂

Kosher is ever so slightly stricter than Halal. So Muslims can eat Kosher – but Jews can’t eat Halal.

Also, please correct me if I’m wrong, but as a Muslim, you can eat milk and meat together…?

Jews aren’t meant to mix the two, so that’s another way in which Kosher and Halal differ.

That said, Kosher and Halal are similar and both involve a more humane way of killing the animal.

As an atheist who has had both Jewish and Muslim friends from childhood, the similarity between their food habits/taboos has always fascinated me. I can offer neither of them bacon or pork, they both circumcise their children, and both eat no animal unless it is horribly, ritually killed by having it’s throat cut.

As far as I understand it, Kosher meat must be killed in the exactly the same way and due to the same principles as Halal meat. Personally, I find this practice abhorrent. I have raised my own animals and have always had them killed humanely. I find the practice of cutting an animal’s throat and bleeding it to death absolutely horrendous and am amazed that it is allowed in this country just because of pressure from certain religious factions.

Jews may not mix meat and milk products, even down to having separate fridges and cooking implements. They may not buy second-hand processors or eat in establishments or homes where it is possible that meat and dairy could have been mixed.

These practices (both Muslim and Jewish) were probably very sensible 2000 years ago, especially in hot countries. My husband is a microbiologist, and says that such practices probably avoided food poisoning, and are probably still sensible practice in third-world countries.

However, now we have refrigeration, the reason for such practices becomes less clear; instead of a practical reason, we now have an ingrained religious one, with no real purpose other than indoctrination, and which serves no purpose, other than to exclude choice and to ensure observance and keep the “chosen” separate.

I agree with peace — My brother.

answer: Yes except for meat – halal meat has been blessed, kosher meat hasn’t been blessed.

Kashrut is stricter than halal so Muslims can eat kosher food and observe halal except for meat.

Same difference …Kosher food and halal food gimme me break…. Eat the darn food already !!!

It’s shame how Jews massively report our Islamic answers to Islamic questions … I just can’t imagine how WEAK these people are !

I swear to God they reported Peace’s answer because it’s telling the truth.

حسبنا الله و نعم الوكيل فيكم يا يهود يا كذابين !!

ربينا يفضحكم و يظهر حقيقتكم للناس .. أمين.
